Lying
Oh, what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive
—Sir Walter Scott
In the long run, telling the truth is much easier than lying. You don’t have to remember the stories you made up in order to avoid future slip-ups.
On a more subtle level, telling a lie implies a certain personal inadequacy, suggesting that what you’ve done or plan to do is unacceptable and therefore you must hide it.
Affirmation: Today I will keep my life clear and simple by telling the truth.
